The Shamrock Club of Wisconsin, Inc. has been Wisconsin's largest Irish American organization for more than 46 years. The club was founded on March 17, 1960. It has fostered Irish and Irish American causes in Wisconsin ever since. With chapters all over the state, the Shamrock Club is involved in many cultural, social and charitable events.
Highlights of the club's activities include the St. Patrick's Day Parade, the Milwaukee Irish Fest and the Holiday Folk Fair.
The Shamrock Club Color Guard, Pipes and Drums is an award-winning unit that has marched in many world-class events including the Dublin Millenium Parade in 1988. In 2006, the SCCGPD marched in the Savannah St Patrick's Day Parade, the second largest parade in the United States, and one of the oldest. They were invited tolead the 2007 Savannah Parade.
