Do I have to be Irish to enjoy the Parade?
Yes, but fortunately, everyone is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day! (And by special dispensation of St. Patrick, the duration of this miracle extends backwards to the previous Saturday, which is when the Parade takes place every year.) |

Where are the best locations for families with small children?
We suggest Wisconsin Avenue near Grand Avenue Mall, Plankinton Avenue near the Milwaukee County Historical Society or Old World Third Street near Pere Marquette Park. See the route map on this website. The area around the review stand is excellent. |

Will the Shamrock Sprint be held in 2008?
Unfortunately, no. Because of construction in downtown Milwaukee, and especially the State Street Bridge, we will not have enough access to make the run an enjoyable experience. We are planning to hold it again in 2009. |

Why is the Saint Patrick's Parade so early in 2008?
By a vote of the membership of the Shamrock Club, the date of the Parade was moved so as not to be in conflict with the Lenten Holy Week. Easter is March 23, 2008. Most American cities have moved the celebration of St. Patrick's Day off of March 17, so as not to fall on the Holy Week calendar. In Ireland, the date has been changed to March 15. In Milwaukee's Archdiocese, it is March 14. In 2009, the parade will move back to the week prior to St Patrick's Day. Milwaukee's parade is one of the earliest in 2008. |
