The 42nd Annual St. Patricks Day Parade
Will take place on Saturday, March 8,, 2008 at Noon



March 6, 2008

Shamrock Club 48th Birthday Party at the Irish Cultural and Heritage Center. The party featured the award winning sounds of the Shamrock Club Color Guard Pipes and Drums. Free admission. Irish Honorees 2008 will be sashed.


March 5-7, 2008

The Shops of Grand Avenue, 275 W. Wisconsin Ave, will feature Irish-themed entertainment from 11:30 - 1 pm in the center court area each day to kick off the Irish holiday.

  • March 5
    Enjoy your lunch with the always entertaining Trinity Irish Dancers. They will step out at 11:30 am.
  • March 6 - Press Conference and Irish Dance
    McMenamin Irish Dance Academy is a Milwaukee, Wisconsin based Irish dance school for all levels of Irish dancers. Brought to you by the Westown Association, McMenamin Academy will be performing for all in Center Court of The Shops of Grand Avenue for entertainment during our St. Patrick's Day Press Conference scheduled between 11:30am and 1:00pm.

    We will have a press conference on Thursday, March 6 to help start the celebrations. Crowd favorites athas will perform traditional Irish dance tunes between 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM in the Center Court.

    We will also be joined by representatives of the New York City Police Department, who will be a part of the parade on Saturday.

  • March 7

    Friday's lunch will feature athas. athas, Irish for joy and gladness, is a traditional irish band based in Milwaukee. Join us in Center Court between 11:30am and 1:00pm in celebration of Milwaukee's St. Patrick's Day Parade

    ShamRock Westown

    On March 7, it will be time to SHAM-Rock the Avenue. The Miller Time Pub (509 W. Wisconsin Ave. in the Hilton Milwaukee City Center) will be the site of this year's party. Event-goers will be offered Miller beverages, exciting giveaways and enough Irish music to keep them rocking into the night. Local favorite, Ian Gould will kick off the evening from 5:30 - 7 pm, and will be followed by the Irish rockers of Reilly from 7:30 - 11 pm. No cover.

  • March 8
    Reilly to Perform at Grand Avenue

    Reilly will be performing at the Shops of Grand Avenue from 11:30 am until 1 pm. Stop in and check out the rockingest Irish band in Milwaukee.

    Milwaukee St. Patrick's Parade

    Downtown Milwaukee, Noon

    This is Wisconsin's premier St. Patrick's Day Parade, featuring over 170 units, which include marching bands, regional pipe and drum corps, floats, local celebrities and politicians, clowns, Irish dancers and St. Patrick himself!

    Don't Worry about driving around for the perfect spot. We have it for you, all day long. $1 parking is available at The Shops of Grand Avenue. Or check Park Milwaukee.com.

    Find your best route into Downtown Milwaukee. With construction still occuring on the Marquette Interchange into and out of downtown Milwaukee, check http://www.mchange.org for the best routes to get to the parade.

    The 42nd Annual Shamrock Club of Wisconsin St. Patrick's Parade steps off at Noon from 3rd and Wisconsin in front of the Grand Avenue Mall. The parade proceeds east to Plankinton, north on Plankinton to Kilbourn, west on Kilbourn to Old World Third Street, north on Old World Third Street to Juneau, east on Juneau to Water Street, south on Water Street.


  • Post Parade Party

    March 8, ICHC - 1 to 7 PM

    The annual Post Parade Party takes place at the Irish Cultural and Heritage Center, 2133 West Wisconsin Avenue from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. Opening the event in the Hallamor will be the Shamrock Club Color Guard Pipes and Drums.

    Four Stages of continuous entertainment, including Glencastle Irish Dancers, Trinity Academy of Dance, and Kinsella Irish Dance School, Ceol Cairde, Blarney, the Caledonian Dancers, The Gleasons,, Jeff Ward; U 2 Zoo, and Eileen O'Rourke: Leprechaun Stories, and more.

    • Volunteers Needed If you want to volunteer for the 2008 Post Parade Party, contact Kris Carrigg Pluskota at Shamrock Club Post Parade Party 2008, or call 414-345-8800. We need people to serve in all areas, including gates, bars and food. Shifts are for 2 hours, and you get free admission to the PPP.

      Shamrock Club of Wisconsin
      Mass honoring Saint Patrick, 8:30 am

      Mass will be held at St. Patrick's congregation, 725 South 7 Street, (7 and Washington) on Milwaukee's south side will be celebrated by Father Terry Brennan, S.J. There will be readings and songs in both Irish and English.

      Bus service available from the ICHC to and from the Mass and them tp the ICHC for a continental breakfast. Go to March 15 Events for more information. The cost is $3 per person.

      A Full Irish Breakfast is available afterwards, including eggs, bangers, potatoes O'Brien, and black and white pudding. A Continetal Breakfast is available after the Mass at the Irish Cultural and Heritage Center. The cost is $7 for the Irish breakfast and $3 forthe continental for adults, and reduced prices for children under 10.

    • Easter Rising Mass - March 23 at ICHC

      The annual Easter Risign Mass will take place on Sunday, March 23, at the Irish Cultural and Heritage Center, at 9:30 am. The Mass honors the members of the Irish Rebellion on Easter Monday, 1916. The Mass will be celebrated by Father Michael Maher, S.J. A continental breakfast will follow.

  • Annual Scholarship Raffle Drawing - April Meeting

    During February, March and early April we will sell our tickets for the Shamrock Club Scholarship Raffle. The prizes in 2008 include: The grand prize of 2 Round Trip tickets on Air Tran Airlines; Waterford Crystal from Waterford Wedge Store in Pleasant Prairie, WI; Belleek China Vase; $400 Golf package to Brown Deer Golf Course; a stay at the County Clare Irish Inn in Milwaukee; a $250 bracelet from Reflective Images of Santa Fe, NM; a $250 framed photo of Ireland by Ken Tehan of Tehan Photo; and more prizes.

    The drawing will be April 3, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. at the Irish Cultural and Heritage and Center 2133 West Wisconsin Avenue, Milwaukee, during the Shamrock Club general meeting.

    We will award a number of $500 scholarships for college level students who qualify. In 2007, we gave scholarships to 3 women, totalling $1500. In 2006 we gave $1000 to 2 winners. In 2005, we gave away 4 scholarships.
